This week the first team travelled to Oxford to face the youth of Oxford University. As a few of the city players were suffering of the effects of the night before, we got off to a poor start going down 4-0. This, however, didn’t seem to worry the city players as we tightened up our defence and started to pop in some goals, going into half-time 8-5 up.
We continued the second half in the same way as we ended the first, scoring 12 more goals and only conceding 4. Late into the second half Ste and Osian recieved a stern telling off from the referee for some rowdiness which was probably left over from their night out with our own uni lot the night before. We didn’t play to our full potential but still secured a comfortable win, which is important as winning when you are playing well is substantionally easier. Final score 20-9 to Spartans 1.
